Patient blood management – committed to more patient safety

The new foundation with reputable experts from the fields of medicine, self-management, health insurance, hospitals and health economics has set the target of advancing patient blood management (PBM) throughout all of Germany. pbm Academy was started by Vifor Pharma Deutschland GmbH with the intention of contributing to the improvement of treatment quality in the German health sector by consistently implementing PBM.

Appropriate presentation – made by Bloom

To give the foundation a memorable face, Bloom was commissioned by lead agency Burson-Marsteller to design an appropriate look and feel. The creative agency located in Munich and Nuremberg was entirely responsible for creating the academy’s new presence, from the logo, to office equipment, though to the website.


The new logo, a combination of drops of blood and a spiral, has a vibrant and modern feel. In combination with the three distinctive letters, PBM, and the logotype, it simultaneously communicates professionalism and also appeals to a broad target group. It can be implemented in all offline and online channels and is intended to set up PBM as a quality indicator in the long term. The freshly launched website contains important facts for relevant stakeholders and provides information about members, the advisory board, funding programmes and further training opportunities.
