Bloom Nürnberg developed a 45-second cinema ad for the launch of Nuremberg’s original red beer from Tucher. It was filmed in Tucher’s elaborately restored Altes Sudhaus (translation: old brewery) in the north of Nuremberg.

New beer is brewing in the old brewery

Tucher Brewery returned to its roots with its move to the Altes Sudhaus in 2018. Today a truly unique speciality beer is being brewed in the place in which Tucher Brewery resided for decades: Nuremberg’s original red beer. What makes it special? The time-honoured brewing technique and the oak barrels used in the traditional ageing process.

The secret behind red beer from Nuremberg

Tradition, craftsmanship and a healthy portion of tranquillity – those are also the ingredients for the cinema ad that Bloom Nürnberg thought up for Nuremberg’s original red beer from Tucher. Larger-than-life emotional imagery take the viewer on a journey into the cool fermenting and storage cellar of the Altes Sudhaus and shows the unique aspects of traditional brewing – from fermentation in open vats to ageing in charred oak barrels. The cinema ad reveals the secret of Nuremberg’s red beer: in addition to the special production process, attention to detail and the time Tucher gives to its beer to let it unfold its unique characteristics. And that is a rare exception in today’s high-paced age of automation.

Competent implementation and the right feel

As Tucher’s long-time agency partner, Bloom Nürnberg was responsible for the creative concept, storyboard and project management of the cinema ad for Nuremberg’s original red beer. Bloom proved it had the right feel for the project both with its selection of production company Eff &Eff in Munich and by choosing to work with Dieter Deventer behind the camera, ensuring perfect implementation. The 45-second ad will run in select Nuremberg cinemas starting in February 2019.
